Awarded the International Taste Award for Two Consecutive Years! Chaoshan Collection’s Fermented Black Bean Sauce Wins the 2025 Flavor Medal

The results of the 2025 Superior Taste Award were recently announced in Brussels, Belgium. Chaoshan Collection’s Fermented Black Bean Sauce was awarded a Two-Star Medal for its authentic Chaoshan flavor and outstanding quality. Following the brand’s first international recognition in 2024 for its Braised Stewed Sauce, this marks the second consecutive year Chaoshan Collection has been honored—showcasing the growing global appreciation for Chaoshan-style flavors.

Organized by the International Taste Institute (ITQI) in Belgium and often referred to as the “Michelin of the food world,” the Superior Taste Award is judged by a panel of Michelin-starred chefs and culinary experts from various countries. Products are evaluated through a strict blind tasting process, based on criteria including aroma, taste, texture, and aftertaste—serving as a prestigious international endorsement of a product’s overall flavor excellence.

Chaoshan Collection’s Fermented Black Bean Sauce stays true to traditional Chaoshan flavors, made with non-GMO black beans and crafted through a natural 60-day fermentation process. Blended with locally sourced aged galangal and first-draw fish sauce, the sauce has a unique “half-bean, half-paste” texture. Its taste profile is rich and layered—savory and umami with a hint of heat and a mellow finish. The Braised Stewed Sauce, which received its first international award in 2024, was created with the idea that even home-cooked braised dishes can capture the authentic old-school taste. It features a carefully balanced blend of 16 aromatic spices, paired with locally brewed soy sauce and three-year-aged first-draw fish sauce. To use, simply add water—one pack is enough to braise up to 1kg of ingredients, removing the need for complex seasoning or long cooking times.
